Dental Check-Ups
Dental check-ups are an essential part of maintaining excellent dental health. They include a visual examination of your teeth, gums, and the whole mouth area. We recommend a check-up every six months.
Regular checkups help to detect the early signs of dental problems as well as oral cancer, so the proper treatment can be carried out before a problem becomes serious. After your check-up, you will receive a custom-made treatment plan explaining any further treatments that may be required.

Dental Cleaning / Scaling Polishing
The Classic / Normal Cleaning / Scaling
In addition to your daily home dental care routine, regular cleanings by a hygienist/ dentist are essential to maintaining your oral health. The classic clean is recommended for patients who are non-smokers and visit the dentist periodically, generally patients who have cleanings every 3-6 months.
Cost: 1500 BDT per session.
The Advanced Cleaning / ScalingThe advanced clean is recommended for patients who do not visit the dentist so often, they can be non-smokers or smokers who are not heavily stained.
Cost: 1500 BDT per session
The Sparkling / polishingAir-polishing Cost: 2000 per session The sparking / polishing is recommended for smokers or patients with heavy stains.
The air polisher removes such stains caused by years of coffee, tea and red-wine drinking, smoking, and eating certain foods such as curries. Please note that in some cases more than one session is required.
Polishing with pumice powder removes all the staining from all accessible surface of teeth. Please note that in some cases more than one session is required.

Gum Disease & Periodontal Therapy
Gum disease is a condition caused by a bacterial infection of the gums, usually related to poor oral hygiene, certain genetic predispositions, and some medications. The signs and symptoms include the gums becoming swollen, sore, with infected gums generally bleeding during brushing.
If not treated, gum disease can progress to cause a range of problems, including recession of the gums, bone loss, and in advanced cases, tooth loss.
If your dentist finds evidence of gum disease during your dental check-up, we recommend beginning treatment promptly to stop any further progression of the disease and prevent any problems from developing further.
At Smile gallery, we offer a range of periodontal therapy to patients suffering from mild/moderate cases to those suffering from the most advanced cases, including severe cases that could require periodontal surgery.
Periodontal curettage / root planning: 1000 per quadrant.
Periodontal curettage / root planning: 4000 all teeth.
Periodontal flap surgery: 1000 per tooth.

Fillings
To treat a cavity, we will remove the decayed portion of your tooth and then "fill" the area on the tooth where the decayed material was removed. Fillings are also used to repair cracked or broken teeth and teeth that have been worn down from misuse (such as from nail-biting or tooth grinding). There are many techniques available to restore a broken or decayed tooth using a tooth-coloured filling material.

Root Canal & Treatments
A root canal treatment is needed when the blood or nerve supply of the tooth (known as the ‘pulp’) is infected through decay or injury. If the pulp becomes infected, the infection may spread through the root canal system of the tooth. This may eventually lead to an abscess. If a root canal treatment is not carried out, the infection will spread and the tooth may need to be removed.
We use the latest equipment and techniques such as ProTaper® to ensure the best result and longevity of the treatment.

Extractions
Although our first priority will be to save a tooth, in some cases, problems may have developed to a point where there is no other option than to carry out an extraction.
Some reasons why teeth may need to be extracted include:
- Severe tooth decay or infection
- Wisdom teeth or extra teeth that are blocked or preventing other teeth from coming in.
- Severe gum disease which may affect the supporting tissues and bone structures of teeth
- reparation for orthodontic treatment (braces)
- Fractured teeth
Simple extractions are performed on teeth that are visible in the mouth, usually under local anesthetic. Surgical extractions involve the removal of the teeth that cannot be easily accessed either because they have broken under the gum line or because they have not grown in fully above the gumline.
